Ksenija Klasnić graduated in Sociology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, Croatia, in 2007. In the same year she also completed an additional two-year study programme in Social Sciences and Humanities Informatics at the Department of Information Sciences, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. In 2014, she obtained her Ph.D. in Sociology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, with a doctoral dissertation entitled “Construction and Evaluation of Scales for Measuring the Recognition and Experiences of Economic Violence against Women in Intimate Relationships”.
She works as an associate professor at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, where she teaches courses in sociological research methodology and data analysis. Since 2025, she has served as the Head of the Department of Sociology. Her main research interests include gender and family sociology, social and gender inequalities, violence against women, and social research methodology. She is the author of around thirty scientific publications, including articles in peer-reviewed journals, chapters in books and conference proceedings, and is the co-author of three scholarly monographs and a statistical handbook, as well as the co-editor of a scientific volume. She is a member of the Croatian Sociological Association and the European Sociological Association. She serves on the editorial boards of the journals Revija za sociologiju and Socijalna ekologija and is the President of the Court of Honour of the Croatian Sociological Association. In recognition of her teaching excellence, she received the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2024.
