Ana Marinković is an Associate Professor at the Department of Art History, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. She graduated in Art History and Ethnology from the University of Zagreb and obtained her MA and PhD in Medieval Studies from the Central European University in Budapest/Vienna. She has participated in numerous research projects, most recently: Architectural Culture of the Early Modern Eastern Adriatic (ERC-AdriArchCult, 2020-2026) and Histoire et archéologie des monastères et des sites ecclésiaux d’Istrie et de Dalmatie (IVe-XIIe s.) (ANR-Monacorale, 2021-2025). In the period 2017-2022, she taught at the University of Dubrovnik (MA programme History of the Adriatic and the Mediterranean and BA programme Conservation/Restauration Studies). Since 2015, she has been the co-leader of the research-educational programme Otkrivanje starih dubrovačkih katedrala / Discovering the Old Dubrovnik Cathedrals, and is the vice-president of the organising committee of the biennial conference Dani Cvita Fiskovića. In 2025, she was a visiting researcher at the University Ca’ Foscari in Venice.

Her research interests span from medieval and early modern church history and hagiography to the urban and architectural history of the Eastern Adriatic, notably the iconography of architecture and control of space by lay and ecclesiastical authorities. She specialises in Latin palaeography and has conducted research in numerous archives and manuscript collections in Croatia and Italy. She is also active in the conservation of architectural heritage.

Marinković is the co-author of Crkva sv. Vlaha de Platea: Arhitektura i pobožnost 1348.-1706. (forthcoming, with I. Ivić and M. Marušić) and co-editor of several volumes of proceedings of the Hagiotheca and Dani Cvita Fiskovića conferences. She is a member of the Croatian Hagiography Society Hagiotheca (founding member and vice-president), Hagiography Society, Associazione Italiana per lo Studio dei Santi, dei Culti e dell’Agiografia (AISSCA), Renaissance Society of America, Associazione Italiana di Storia Urbana (AISU), Mediterranean Studies Association.
