Petar Radosavljević graduated with a double major in German Language and Literature and Spanish Language and Literature from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, where he also attended elective courses in Romanian. He defended his doctoral thesis, “Language of the Boyash Roma in the Territory of the Republic of Croatia”, in 2010 (Field: Philology; Branch: Romance Studies; University of Zagreb).
He works as an Associate Professor in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures and is a member of the Chair of Romanian Language and Literature. He has published several scholarly articles and book chapters. He is a co-editor of a scholarly edited volume and the author of the monograph The Language of the Boyash Roma in Croatia: Phonology and Morphology of Boyash Romanian (FF Press, 2022). He has given presentations at more than forty academic conferences. He attended three specialised courses in Romania and spent one semester as a Visiting Professor at the Department of Romanian and Classical Studies, Faculty of Letters, History and Theology, West University of Timişoara, Romania.
His research interests include, among others, contact linguistics, Romanian dialectology, Boyash/Bayash Romanian, and varieties of Croatian spoken in Romania.
