Evelina Grozdanova finished her Master’s degree in Slavic Philology at Plovdiv University, Bulgaria, and then, in 2015, a PhD degree with a dissertation entitled ‘The Formation of Orthographic Norms among Croats and Serbs.’
Since 2003, she took a position of an assistant at the Department of Slavic Studies at the Faculty of Philology, University of Plovdiv. In 2016, she became a Bulgarian language lecturer at the Department of South Slavic Languages and Literatures, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb (Croatian). Her main research interests include orthography, history of literary languages, and the standardization of literary languages.
Additionally, she has worked as an editor for several journals and yearbooks in Bulgaria.
She is the co-author of ‘A Concise Bulgarian Grammar’ (Malа bugarska gramatika), published in Zagreb in 2025.”
