Goran Zlodi graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb, with a double major in Information Sciences/Museology and Czech Language and Literature. He earned his M.Sc. in Information Sciences/Museology at the same faculty (2003), with a thesis titled “Museum Visual Documentation in Digital Form.” In 2007, he earned a PhD in Information and Communication Sciences/Museology at the University of Zagreb, with a dissertation entitled “Establishing Interoperability Among Metadata Schemas in Museum Environment.”

He is a Full Professor at the Department of Information and Communication Sciences – Subdepartment of Museology, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. His research focuses on metadata interoperability, museum documentation, thesauri and controlled vocabularies, formal ontologies, and citizen science approaches in cultural heritage contexts.

Dr. Zlodi is a member of the CIDOC Documentation Committee (ICOM International Committee for Documentation). He is a researcher on the international project InterPARES Trust AI (2021–2026) and has served as a member of the Scientific Committee of the international Digital Art History conference series (2021–present). He was a member of the Working Group for the development of the Republic of Croatia’s Cultural Heritage Digitization Strategy up to 2020 (Technical Coordination Working Group).
